the lifestyle of the lean and famous
it's summertime once again my dear friends!!
as soon as i arrived from my US trip, surprisingly my figure changed from featherweight to heavyweight category.
my friends would frequently ask about this significant weight gain (from 130, i now weigh 135). here is my answer:
1. i was informed before that i will be sent to vegas for a heavyweight fight against morales... so after i qualify for the heavyweight category they announced that i was really scheduled for the featherweight match. they cheated on me. i will replace freddie roach.
2. the steak in the US was ohhh sssooooo irrisistable, can't afford to resist 2000 calories each meal.
3. change of image from the alluring campus queen to a comfortable, caring and huggable mom.
thanks to the law of thermal expansion, i got 1 more logical and scientific approach to answer my friends' inquisitive stare:
"In physics, thermal expansion is the tendency of matter to change in volume in response to a change in temperature. When a substance is heated, its constituent particles move around more vigorously and by doing so generally maintain a greater average separation. Materials that contract with an increase in temperature are very uncommon; this effect is limited in size, and only occurs within limited temperature ranges. The degree of expansion divided by the change in temperature is called the material's coefficient of thermal expansion and generally varies with temperature."
make sense huh??!
in the US, the weather is so cold that when i arrived back here in Manila then i, as a matter, changed in volume in response to a change in temperature.
now, the problem is, what now?
last week i launched a campaign to strictly impose on myself a serious health regimen.
i formed a group called Skinny Friends in the office... (Hi Jem, Enid, Hayds, Pat and RJ, binabati ko kayo!! Skinny friends, UNITE!!!)
so Jem kept on invoking the articles of the Skinny Friends if he thinks we are violating rules like consumming more calories that the required daily calorie allowance.
you know, it's hard to resist inviting chinese and fatty foods when you are doing it alone in the middle of an ocean of non-weight-conscious friends.
so to boost my campaign, i started taking the stairs from the ground floor to the 14th floor. catching my breath, i need to stay composed and project to them that it's fun to take the stairs and that i did'nt sweat at all (if they only knew i almost fainted in the 12th).
hahaha! at lunchtime i had one recruit (hoorraaahh Aaron!) so we took the stairs again going down and stairs (AGAIN!) going up. Come on! im still perfectly sane!
Aaron however, promised himself to wait for a month to recover after that stairs event. :-(
so i'm taking the stairs alone again. tsk tsk.
yesterday i went to CCP to run. if you've seen the fountain area of CCP, i was there and made 7 rounds. that's enough otherwise i would need to take myself to the nearest hospital. then, not too far from CCP, i joined a group of people in their morning aerobics.
maybe as you live a lifestyle of the lean and famous, you need to check the nutritional content at the back of the carton or plastic of the food you are taking. which i dont understand before.
in these days of struggling to lose weight, i acknowledge the presence of my orbitrac who is always there for me especially at night when i arrive from the office. some 30 minutes we tenderly spend together makes our bond grow strong each day.
thanks also to my american harvest rolled oats with muesli (80 calories per serving). thank you for relieving me from my emotional hunger and for being there whenever i need you most! i dont know what my life would be without you! :-D
and don't you forget Del Monte Fit and Right who never gets tired of converting my fats to energy so the ads say.
losing weight is not an easy nut to crack. now my whole bosy aches because of the tremendous physical activity i engage myself in the past few days.
Oh God, i miss my skinny jeans, please don't let me buy new pairs... that's so costly.
